March 16 1943- Mother then led all of the "mourners" down a dark path and too the harbor. Ellen and her parents were included in that group of people. I wondered if i was ever going to see her again. Just in case I wouldn't see her again, I kept her necklace. Before they left Peter, Lise's fiancé, had given Mr. Rosen a package to give to Uncle Henrik who was already at the harbor. On their way out, Mr. Rosen tripped but got back up again. It wasn't until mother got home that we realized that when he tripped he dropped the package and didn't pick it up. It was urgent! Since mother had broken her ankle on the way back from the harbor, it was up to me to deliver it to Uncle Henrik. I put the package at the bottom of a basket and covered it with a napkin, apple, cheese, and bread. i sprinted to the harbor but got caught by two Nazi soldiers. Each of them with a dog. They searched through the basket and found nothing but a handkerchief in the package. They laughed at me then let me go deliver it to Uncle Henrik.
