It Will Be A Long Night

March 2 1943- These past couple of days were crazy. The Nazi soldiers had began to "relocate" the Jewish population to other far away places. So, the Rosens needed to go into hiding or get out of Denmark. Mr. and Mrs. Rosen had decided it would be best if Ellen pretended to be my late sister, Lise. That way she would be"part of the family," if the soldiers said anything. That night as we went to bed, 4 Nazi soldiers came to inspect our apartment. They were almost to me and Ellen's room when i quickly yanked Ellen's necklace off of her neck. It had the star of David on it. If the soldiers saw that then Ellen's cover would be blown.They came in, inspected, then left. We were safe but we needed to leave soon before anything else could happen.
